Everyone has owned at least one watch in their life. Although the handy readout on the front of a cell phone has relegated watches to the back of some people’s underwear drawers, they will have certainly worn a Timex or a family heirloom on their wrist at some point. And lest we who are old enough forget the Swatch that we wore back in the 80’s or the cheap piece of plastic that never kept correct time that we pulled from the bottom of a kid’s fastfood meal. Regardless of past experiences with trendy or cheap watches, we can be sure that watches will always remain fashionable. Don’t let those cell phone users who stuff their watches behind their unmentionables fool you. They don’t speak for everyone, nor do they even speak for the majority. Watches have weathered the cell phone storm and are as popular now as they ever were. The fact is that watches are stylish and make a statement about you. It is widely believed that the first item of clothing a woman looks at when she meets a man are his shoes, but you can be sure that the watch you’re wearing (or not) will be pretty high up on the evaluation list to. People, and this applies to men as well as women, can tell a lot about a man by the watch he wears. Another reason watches are popular is that most men don’t get to wear much in the way of accessories. While women have numerous accessories (rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, etc.) to choose from, men only have a few choices. In fact, for most men, a watch is the only accessory that they would even consider. That makes it stand out even more, so it’s important that the watch you choose is a good one. If you’re looking to project an image of success, your choices are fairly straightforward, with Rolex watches and Tag Heuer watches being particular favorites. Wearing one of these is the equivalent of driving a Mercedes or a BMW, Audi. You won’t get any points for originality, but people will automatically assume that you’re doing well for yourself in life. It may seem that top end watches are too expensive, but they really aren’t. Consider the quality that comes with the price tag. The watch will last a lifetime and keep that new sheen it had when you first put it on. And if you look online, you will probably come across watches that are discounted up to 30% off of those you would find in the store.
