Summer 2010 Handbag and Purses Review
What is new in designer purses for the Summer of 2010? Well, what I’ve seen up to now is simple, plain with little subtle trims and tassels or gem details. I believe because of the prints in girls clothing this season and all the “Long Slender Gowns” – influenced dresses - the handbag needed to be played down a little! I’ve observed softer more subdued colour pallets, generally within the beige variety with regards to leather-based products.
Gucci has a few strong colours, with a gorgeous deep blue and orange leather hobo handbag along with simple tasseled details and bamboo but it is still extremely simple.
I like the newest Vuitton “Sun Burst PM” in stunning Monogram Denim Jean material. I know, I know what you could be thinking certainly not one more Monogrammed handbag yet this particular one features a new fresh perspective. The LV monogramming is subtle and you will be intrigued by the bleached tiedye appearance. The Sun Burst handbag comes in two colour selections, green and glowing blue yet they are not to strong colors, Louis Vuitton kept this clean and semisoft.
I must say if I needed to pick from one highend brand this season, it would most likely be Prada. I really like the stunning outlines and small specifics that really make their hand bags jump out this season. The Saffiano Traforato in bright white with gold trim is lovely – this reminds me of lattice or ribbons. I like the design of the Nappa Gaufre’ assortment with the leather being rouged with each other just like a beautiful gown. The Plex Mistolino is exclusive and different which consists of clear casing on the exterior and you have to adore the jewelled gem detail they are using this year! This really helps dress up a simple handbag and is really a strong, stylish statement! I am not impressed with the medium range bags.
I think Dooney & Bourke must have lost the message considering they had been the one that didn’t follow the leader and went with an increase of vibrant prints (such as Candy stripe and Zebra sport) collections this year.
COACH, nonetheless, a great and classic accessory, has modified its small emblem a little but other than that, not to much to get anxious about. If I was asked to decide on a single piece from Coach this summer it might be the “Juilia Leather O P Art Perry Tote it is the standout purse in the sea of “Been There, Bought That!”
Juicy Couture , well, what can one say, I’m a fan but this year not really a collection that I like, just but there is lots of fun and whimsical bags, just like Alice In Wonderland. The thing which caught my attention was the “Royalty Trolley Carry On Purse it’s a lovely pink and brown print. The ”Blueblood” bag shares a similar cute crown color print as the carry on bag but was surprised it was not introduced for the fall season or Back To School look!
Overall, right now there are a few gorgeous collections, good quality pieces out there which are classic enough that they will remain in fashion for years to come. These are trendy handbags and you won’t question yourself next week and say “What was I imagining after i bought that?”!
