The small shirt collar is a great collar…. for leisure… wear it in the park, when you are out clubbing, or when your on a date. But don’t wear it in the office.

You can’t wear it with a tie

First off the only tie you can wear with this collar the slim ties and usually that will only work if you are in an industry where you have to make a fashion statement. If you wear it with the larger ties it will be hard to keep it from popping out the back of the collar and in turn look unprofessional.

Relaxed look

This shirt collar gives the most relaxed look of the all the shirt collars (except the Mao collar) and that’s why it really is not a good choice to wear for a formal day at work. If you are at work and want to look trendy and professional go for the double button collar.

Still a cool shirt collar

Brands like Diesel, Levis, Armani, D&G all use these small collars as a major part of their fashionable shirt collections. They go really well with good jeans (as do most shirts with an exception of those with French cuffs). So if you do like to wear shirts in your time off work, try a small shirt collar.
