Remove Them:
Chemicals from deodorants are in fact the reason why armpits turn yellow.
To remove the yellow armpit stains, take a dissolvent and dap it on the yellow stain to remove the deodorant leftovers. Let it sit for a while and then start scrubbing it, a bit more dissolvent may be needed… Now using extra detergent wash your shirt. When it is done washing be sure to check the armpit again. If there is still a bit left, use some bleach or even vinegar (depends on the fabric) to remove the rest of the shirt stain.
Do note that bleach is tough on dress shirts and may decrease their life span, so try to avoid using it regularly.
Avoid Them:
In order to lessen the chance of getting more yellow armpit stains follow these tips:
• When you get home from work try soaking the armpits in cold water. Cold water can often be enough to neutralize the chemicals from the deodorant.
• Only apply an even thin layer of deodorant. Deodorants can be just as effective if they are applied in a thin layer on a wider area of skin. Less deodorant means fewer stains.
• After applying your deodorant wait till it dries before putting on your dress shirt.
